Everything Comes Together

At 12:35am a buck snuck out of thick cover located on the outskirts of a fallow field, presenting himself at 35yrds. My Savage 1899 .250-3000 slowly raised and tucked a 100 grain bullet behind his articulated shoulder. The eighty three year old rifle performed beautifully as the deer lumbered twenty or so yards before succumbing to a double lung shot. After seven days a field this marks an end to my 06' deer season. Although not the largest buck seen it’s a trophy in my book and meat on the table!
