I closed my eyes last night with a vision in mind. Eerie, how vivid the eidetic images played as if on cue. Cruising along the water's surface, I navigated riffles and pools, recounting past trips and memorable fish. My thoughts jump from one stream to the next, until finally settling on a slithering, slate bottom creek; a gem among the many gentle tributaries feeding either of NY's boarding Great Lakes. Just as I was lulled into relaxation, a silver explosion leaped from emerald waters, washing away the fantastic scenery. The realism of it all sent a surge of adrenalin from head to toe, igniting a perpetual toss and turn. I was restless, as I knew tomorrow was my day to explore, a chance to transform tonight’s fantasy into reality.
